Multipurpose hub with healthcare, administrative & postal functions inaugurated in Synyak
The settlement of Synyak and formerly occupied areas of Kyiv oblast were liberated in the spring of 2022 following the withdrawal of Russian forces. The multipurpose administrative building aims revitalise the hromada, and to provide the highest possible level of support to these communities affected by the war – all in one place. In order to alleviate the damage caused by the occupation and the fighting, HIA has launched a number of infrastructure projects with the support of the Government of Hungary: in addition to the multifunctional service building, the construction and renovation of a kindergarten, an ambulance station and a school are underway or have been completed.
Guests and speakers at the ceremony included the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba; Viktor Mikita, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine; Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration and Anatoliy Fedoruk, Mayor of Bucha were joined by Levente Magyar, Hungarian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade as well as Antal Heizer, Ambassador of Hungary. In his acceptance speech, Levente Magyar welcomed the participants and stressed that Hungary is carrying out the largest humanitarian operation in Ukraine in cooperation with Hungarian Interchurch Aid.
The completed multifunctional hub in Synyak (post office, medical clinic, municipial office) in Kyiv region serves the residents of Synyak, Rakivka, Voronkivka, Chervone, Havrylivka, Tarasivshchyna, and Lubyanka settlements within the Bucha district – a total of 6435 inhabitants. At the inauguration ceremony, Laszlo Lehel, President and Director of Hungarian Interchurch Aid, stressed that this is not the only development underway in the region, as a container kindergarten and an ambulance station has already been completed in Zahalci and Bucha, while in Zahalci a school damaged in the fighting is being rebuilt and is expected to be completed in September next year.
